Montgomery, Alabama – March 19, 2024 – The M Transit, Montgomery’s leading public transportation system, proudly announces its stellar performance at 2024 ALTRANS Roadeo, held from March 15 to 16, 2024. This marks the inaugural participation of The M Transit in this prestigious event, showcasing its commitment to excellence in transit operations.

The 2024 ALTRANS Roadeo presented by ALDOT is an annual competition designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional skills and professionalism of transit operators across the state. It serves as a platform for drivers to demonstrate their expertise in maneuvering vehicles through challenging courses while adhering to safety protocols.

Among the standout performers from The M Transit were Mr. Walter Davis, Ms. Candace McDonald, Ms. Sandra Credle, Ms. Jonesha Thomas, and Mr. Samuel Tensley. Ms. Candace McDonald earned acclaim by securing the third-place award in the Bus Division (A), highlighting her remarkable proficiency behind the wheel. Additionally, Ms. Sandra Credle demonstrated unparalleled precision by clinching the award for being the closest to the cone, along with the prestigious 2024 Driver Spirit award. Mr. Tensley participated in the Directors/Managers vs. ALTRANS Administrators in a special division where the participants were voted on to participate by the roadeo contestants.  Mr. Tensley placed a close second to the Bureau Chief of ALDOT.

Mr. Samuel Tensley, General Manager of The M Transit, expressed his pride and gratitude for the outstanding achievements of The M Transit team, stating, “Participating in the 2024 ALTRANS Roadeo was a remarkable experience for us.
