Notice is hereby given that the City of Montgomery and The M Public Transit System will hold a public comment period concerning the Fiscal Year 2022 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) annually allocated federal grant funding. Information about each grant is as follows: The City of Montgomery-The M Public Transit System announces that the FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2022 FTA funds are available for public review and comment. These apportionment funds were allocated to the City of Montgomery-The M Public Transit System, with portions supporting the Autauga County Rural Transit System, and participating elderly and specialized transportation providers’ services that include capital and operating expenses within the City of Montgomery urbanized area. These projects were developed in accordance with the Federal Transit Administration’s requirements and anticipated funding availability under the United Stated Department of Transportation annual federal register notice documents. The public review and comment period will last for fourteen (14) days, from September 12, 2022 until September 25, 2022.

 

The federal funds for FY-2022 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) programs are: Section 5307 Urbanized Formula Program for $5,788,973.00 total dollars of which $3,482,059.00 are Federal Transit Administration funds and $2,306,914.00 are local matching funds for the City of Montgomery for The M Public Transit System and Autauga County Commission for Autauga County Rural Transit System; Section 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Program in the amount of $1,130,759.00 of which $904,607.00 are Federal Transit Administration funds and $226,152.00 are local matching funds being paid by the City of Montgomery for The M Public Transit System; Section 5310 Elderly and Disabled Persons Transportation Program funds for $1,384,646.00 total dollars of which $872,593.00 are Federal Transit Administration funds and $512,053.00 are local matching funds; Items being paid for are standard operating and capital needs for public transit purposes only. Federal Planning Program of Projects (POP) Requirement:

This public notice, public comment period, and overall opportunity to comment on the above described Program of Projects (POP) meets the requirements established by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) pursuant to 49 U.S.C. (United States Code) Section 5307 (c). If there are no amendments to the proposed program of projects, they will become the final POP.
